REACH – The New European Regulation REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) is the new European chemicals policy. It was published on December 30, 2006 and becomes effective on June 1, 2007. REACH substitutes numerous EU directives and regulations. The aims of REACH With REACH, the European Commission intends to ensure a high safety level to protect the human health and the environment. The Commission wants to support the innovation opportunities of the chemical industry in Europe and to define a high safety standard for such products. An additional aim is to prepare a uniform European law system allowing for a rational decision-making process and clear time standards. Our contribution to REACH InnoSelf supports the aims of REACH without any restriction. We have stood up for a responsible handling of resources for a long time. The products we supply (preparations in accordance with this policy) consist of a huge number of substances and/or mixtures obtained from sub-suppliers. The obligation to register the substances is the duty of the sub-supplier (manufacturer) or importer of the according substance or product. We are committed of asking our bottlers and suppliers domiciled in Germany to pre-register the raw materials used for our products. As a scrupulous supplier with a distinct passion for details, we absolutely take care that our products offer conformity (compliance) and that we meet our customers' desires. Therefore, we do not expect significant changes in the lubricant availability. If slight changes of our lubricants should become necessary in some years, e.g. due to the lack of some raw materials, we promise to inform our customers at an early stage. As soon as we receive the first registration dossiers from our sub-suppliers (in 2010 at the earliest) we will extend our safety data sheets in accordance with EC regulation No. 1907/2006. If required, the SDS will then comprise a substance safety report (extended safety data sheet, "eSDS"). In case of further questions regarding the REACH policy, please visit the EU REACH website or contact us directly.
